CrossFit fascinates me for general fitness training. It’s certainly not for everybody and would send many newbies fleeing for their lives, but I’m trying to learn more and more about it. Planning to give it a go once I have my upper body strength levels built back up to their autumn peak. Not that I’m a weight-training beast — eh, no, I have a lanky, wiry build that won’t bulk, but I surprised myself with the level I attained through a P90X cycle and a few weeks of another cycle. With some care and pacing in building our workouts, we can discover that a lot of the physical limits we assume are real are only in the mind. I do want to push harder and further. With my life, it’s a matter of planning, to make the jigsaw pieces fit together, and persistence. Having dance as the centerpiece of my physical life gives me constant motivation to improve my general fitness. Before I became a dancer, my efforts were scattered and pretty inconsistent. Following my passion has put me in the best shape of my life.
